First-Day Checklist

  • Confirm arrival time and parking

  • Set an alarm so you arrive early

  • Review basic terms for the specialty you’re observing

  • Prepare 2–3 questions to ask

  • Bring a small notebook and a pen

  • Complete any required forms

  • Bring your ID or student badge

  • Pack water/snacks if needed

Clinical Etiquette

Introduce yourself to the staff. Stay near your physician unless told otherwise. Don’t interrupt patient conversations. Ask questions at appropriate times
